Spam Musubi Rolls With Sauce

SPAM musubi rolls made with low-sodium SPAM, rice, nori, egg and a teriyaki-style marinade. Perfect for an on-the-go snack or breakfast.

Hawaiian residents have the highest per capita consumption of SPAM in the United States.

Lovegren, Sylvia (2005). Fashionable food: seven decades of food fads.

When my brother lived in Hawaii, I asked him what one of his favorite things to eat was. He said he really liked SPAM musubi rolls. I’d never heard of them before, and I was intrigued. Although, it wasn’t until several years later until I would actually get to try one, and they are delicious! Once I tried one, I knew I had to learn how to create it at home.

Finished Homemade Dog Training Treats

To save money, and to feed our girls a more healthy treat, I set out to make my own homemade dog treats.

Yesterday (March 23rd) was National Puppy Day! This day was established by Colleen Paige in 2006.

National Puppy Day is a special day to celebrate the magic and unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives. But more importantly, it’s a day to help save orphaned puppies across the globe and educate the public about the horrors of puppy mills.

– Colleen Page, www.nationalpuppyday.com

My husband and I recently welcomed a new puppy into our home! We have a 3 1/2 year old Bernese Mountain dog named, Snugglepumpkin (Snugs for short), and we felt it was time for her to have a sister. Orla was born on January 9, 2019, and she came home with us on March 1, 2019.

Snugs and Orla (March 2019)

If you are here, I’m sure you know how fun AND difficult it can be to train a new puppy. Everything is a brand new experience for them, and they are continually learning!

When 1 1/2 year old Snugs came home with us, it took us about 4 months to fully train her. Unsurprisingly, we are still in the process of training Orla. Thankfully, she has potty training down!

Buying training treats all the time can be very expensive, and many of the ingredients used in the treats are not very wholesome or “natural”. In an effort to save money, and to feed our girls a more healthy treat, I set out to make my own homemade dog treats.

Quick and Easy Air Fryer Turnovers (Apple)

Make quick and easy flaky, crispy, and gooey air fryer turnovers at home using any pie filling or additional add-ins (like nuts or Nutella)!

Confession: my husband and I have a serious addiction to Arby’s! We seriously can’t get enough! With our meal, each of us will get a turnover as a snack for later. Jonny’s turnover of choice is the apple turnover and mine is the cherry turnover. Here’s the thing though… I don’t like fruit pies. But, there’s something about those turnovers that have my heart. I think I like them so much more because they are not made with traditional pie crusts.

Since our addiction is reaching ridiculous proportions, I attempted to make the turnovers at home. I am so happy with how they turned out! To make a basic turnover, you really only need two ingredients (pie filling and pastry dough). Below, I explain how to make apple turnovers, but you can use this recipe with any pie filling or additional add-ins (like nuts or the Nutella I used in a few turnovers)!

Photos are missing olives. Don’t forget to add them like I did!

These Italian Nachos, developed by my dad, are a copycat for the appetizer found at the Italian restaurant, Johnny Carino’s. They would make a stunning appetizer for your Super Bowl party, but they are also amazing eaten as full meal. Since, the Carino’s in Utah closed, we can still enjoy these whenever we have the craving for them.
