Here are the top 10 recipes Clean Fingers Laynie’s fans couldn’t wait to click and feast on in 2019. Find your new favorites or rediscover old ones!
When I decided to start the blog, I wanted to share my tried and true recipes with my family and friends. I never imaged how much I would learn or how much work it would be. But, I’ve connected with so many wonderful people who love food as much as I do, and I want to keep inspiring others to cook more at home.
On December 26, 2018, I clicked the purchase button to register my domain. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t very apprehensive and overwhelmed at the thought of maintaining a food blog for the coming year. But I pushed through my fears, and I couldn’t be prouder to say Clean Fingers Laynie is officially 1 year old!
Through the year, I’ve had some great successes and some major failures. I want to give a quick shout out to my husband who stood by me through the highs and the lows. I’m so grateful for his never-ending support.
To commemorate the year, I compiled Clean Finger Laynie’s Top 10 Recipes of 2019. These have been your favorite recipes, and I’m so excited to share them with you again. 10. (Better Than) Del Taco Carnitas Loaded Fries

My husband introduced me to Del Taco Carnitas Loaded Fries. To this day, they are one his most requested meals.
Golden crinkle-cut fries are topped with pork carnitas, cheddar cheese, diced onions, chopped cilantro, and a savory secret sauce.
9. Low-Carb German Pancakes

If you’re looking for a low-carb breakfast other than eggs and bacon, give this Low-Carb German Pancake recipe a try!
Because of the almond flour, I think these taste even better than the version made with all-purpose flour.
8. Air Fryer Grilled Pineapple

Once I learned “grilled” pineapple can be made in an air fryer, I love making it this way!
The outside of the pineapple still caramelizes and browns like it would on a grill, and it stays really juicy. Plus, only 4 ingredients!
7. Low-Carb Brown Sugar Substitute

This Low-Carb Brown Sugar Substitute only needs 2 ingredients and can be used in any recipe calling for brown sugar.
This recipe has been a life-saver helping me save time and money compared to the store bought versions.
6. Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins

These Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins are such a fun mash up combining some of the best elements of a donut and a muffin.
After baking the light and airy donut muffins, roll them in melted butter and cinnamon sugar for a yummy sweet treat!
5. Three Cheese Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni and cheese is my all time favorite food! So, it makes me so happy you like this recipe too! Great minds!
This Three Cheese Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese is super rich, creamy, cheesy, and slightly spicy.
4. Copycat Johnny Carino’s Italian Nachos

This recipe for Copycat Johnny Carnio’s Italian Nachos was one of the first recipes I ever published, and you still love it despite me not knowing what I was doing.
The Italian nachos are topped with chicken, sausage, tomatoes, Pepper-Jack cheese, banana peppers, jalapenos, and Alfredo sauce.
3. Dad’s Beef Spanish Rice

My dad is famous for his Beef Spanish Rice, and his brothers and sisters are constantly asking him for the recipe!
Ground beef, cheese, rice, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and Mexican spices come together to make the best Beef Spanish Rice side dish or full meal!
2. Quick and Easy Air Fryer Turnovers (Apple)

Not sure if I should admit this, but my husband and I still love Arby’s. So, we’re huge fans of these copycat apple turnovers.
Air Fryer Turnovers couldn’t be easier when using puff pastry, your choice of pie filling, an egg wash, and any additional add-ins.
1. 4 Ingredient High Quality Homemade Dog Training Treats

How ironic is that a food blog has a homemade dog training treat recipe as it’s number one post?! It cracks me up! Who would have thought?
Our dogs love these treats, and I love this recipe because I can give them a healthier treat that also helps us save money!
Side Note: Orla (our puppy) is doing well in her training. She still has a way to go, but we love her and want to give both our dogs the very best! So glad to know there are so many people who love and care about their fur babies too!

As I’ve gotten older, celebrating New Years Day has become less exciting. But this New Year’s Day, I find myself really excited for the coming year and a new decade!
Vulnerable Personal Thoughts
Now, I’m about to get personal for a minute. I try not to give too much back story on my recipe posts because I know you want to get in and out of the kitchen. You don’t need to hear me blather on about things not relevant to the recipe.
Behind this blog, I’m a real person. My commitment to you is to post the very best recipe and information the first time. However, I will make mistakes, and I will do my best to fix them.
What you may not know is I work a full-time job, and I work on this blog in my spare time. But that hasn’t stopped me from pouring my heart into this blog, and I want to serve you.
I want you to have a great experience with all my recipes, and I have personally made them all in my own kitchen. it’s important for you to know, I would never post a recipe I don’t believe in. Although, I am always willing to hear your feedback and improve each day.
But know this, that my ultimate goal is to help you know that cooking at home can be tastier, healthier, more convenient, and more affordable than eating out. Cooking does not have to be intimidating, and you can cook delicious flavorful meals at home.
Let’s make 2020 and the coming decade the best one yet!
XOXO
