Sometimes, you want all the flavors of a classic Monte Cristo Sandwich with Jam, but you don’t want all the steps. I have a solution for you! Instead of dipping the sandwich in custard, just grill the sandwich in butter. It’s much easier and faster to prepare than the original.

Even though this sandwich is not fried in batter, don’t worry! This Grilled Monte Cristo Sandwich is still sweet, salty, cheesy, and buttery. Every bite is full of flavor. This sandwich is the perfect indulgence for when you’re craving something warm and comforting.

The key to any mouth-watering bagel sandwich starts with the bagel. My local Kroger store (Smith’s in Utah) freshly bakes several varieties of bagels every morning; these bagels are soft, full of flavor, and very inexpensive (~$0.60 per bagel). The convenience of a nearby delicious bagel that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg–makes these bagels hard to beat!
