This simple Whipped Topping and Yogurt Pie is made in 5 minutes with only 3 ingredients! It’s a perfect, low-calorie, refrigerated or frozen summer treat.
This Whipped Topping and Yogurt Pie has been around for decades. It’s been around so long, I’m not sure where it originated. I was recently introduced to it through several videos on YouTube. Since I’ve been at home over the last few months, I’ve definitely gained a few pounds. Thankfully, this pie is very light, and it has relatively few calories for a dessert. It’s especially perfect for the summertime.
One of the best things about this dessert is it only requires three ingredients! Plus, it’s a no-bake dessert that can be prepared in about five minutes flat! These are the best kinds of desserts in the summer since you don’t need to heat up the house by turning on the oven!
Finally, this is a great recipe for kids. Since it only requires few ingredients, no special equipment, and no oven, it’s perfect for kids to make and to eat!
Whipped Topping and Yogurt Pie Ingredients
As mentioned above, you only need three ingredients to make this dessert:
- Graham Cracker Pie Crust
- Whipped Topping
- Flavored Yogurt
To amp things up even more, you may choose to add food coloring. But this ingredient is totally optional, and it won’t affect the taste of the dessert. (I just like to add it to make the pie even prettier).

Depending on the variety of ingredients you use, this pie can be very light and low in calories. To reduce fat and calories, I made it with Light Whipped Topping, 80-Calorie Greek Yogurt, and a Pre-made Graham Cracker Crust.
By using store-bought ingredients, this pie can be made in about 5 minutes. Plus, all the ingredients are pre-measured. So, you don’t have to worry about getting the correct ratio of ingredients.
If you prefer, you can also make the whipped cream, the pie crust, and yogurt from scratch. (Be sure to check out my recipe for Easy Instant Pot Yogurt!) You may be able to adapt the recipe to your nutritional goals even more by making the components yourself.
You can use any flavor of yogurt in this Whipped Topping and Yogurt Pie. As pictured, I used strawberry cheesecake yogurt. (And it is absolutely delicious!) But you can use other flavors too, and there are so many variety of pies you can make with this simple recipe! For some inspiration, you could try these flavors: Banana-Strawberry, Banana, Coconut, Blueberry, Cherry, Orange, Etc…
Whipped Topping and Yogurt Pie Prep Tips

Once you’ve gathered all your ingredients, preparation is really quick and easy. Essentially, all you need to do is mix together the yogurt and whipped cream and pour it into your pie crust. However, I do prefer to mix the yogurt by itself first. This way, you smooth any yogurt lumps. It also helps evenly distribute any fruit that may be in your yogurt.
Then, I gently fold in the whipped topping. This is especially important to keep your pie light and fluffy. If you mix the whipped topping too much, it will lose it’s airy texture.
If your yogurt is pale, you can also add a few drops of food coloring to the pie filling. Be sure gently fold in the color to avoid over-mixing. For a marbled color (as seen in the pictures), stop folding before color is completely incorporated. It’s so pretty to see the colored swirls!
After your pie is assembled, cover the pie, and pop it into the fridge or the freezer for a couple of hours to firm it up. I recommend allowing it to set for at least 2 hours. If you are freezing your pie, I recommend letting the pie thaw for about 15-30 minutes before serving.
Once the pie is the fridge or freezer, it will keep for days, so you can make several ahead of time. Wouldn’t this make the easiest pot luck dessert?

My husband and I have loved this treat on these hot summer evenings. It’s a fun dessert without breaking our calorie goals. The next time I make it, I will try serving it with fresh fruit that is in season. I think that would be an even prettier presentation!

This recipe keeps it simple by using a store-bought graham cracker crust, but making your own graham cracker crust or cookie crust is very easy. If you have just a few more minutes, you can try your hand at doing that. When you make your own homemade pie crust, you can have fun with the flavor combinations, and you can even make a sugar-free graham cracker crust. Use vanilla cookies for a cookie crust and a lemon yogurt filling, for example, or chocolate cookies and coconut flavored yogurt with coconut flakes on top. There s really no wrong way to make a Cool Whip pie. I don’t like this at all. It’s not the worst. Sure, this will do. I’m a fan—would recommend. Amazing! I love it! Thanks for your rating!
